VALRYGG Studio is the creative world of architect Anita Valrygg.
Rooted on the Helgeland coast in Northern Norway, the studio works across architecture, interiors, objects, scent, and writing — creating spaces and things shaped by place, craft, memory, and material honesty.
VALRYGG began as an architecture studio. Today, it is growing into something more expansive — still grounded in architectural thinking, but no longer limited to buildings alone.
The studio’s foundation is architecture. Its future is atmosphere.
The work moves between scales: from homes and cultural spaces to furniture, objects, scent, and the rituals of everyday life.
Architecture shapes the space around us.
Objects become architecture at the scale of the hand.
Scent becomes invisible atmosphere.
Writing gives language to the ideas behind the work.
At the centre is Sensecraft — an approach developed by Anita Valrygg for designing through light, material, proportion, texture, scent, memory, ritual, and place.
Anita Valrygg is a Norwegian architect, artist, writer, and creative director based on the Helgeland coast.
After years designing architecture and interiors across Europe, she chose to return to a life closer to land, craft, and material. VALRYGG Studio is the world growing from that return.
Her work spans private homes, hospitality, cultural spaces, retail interiors, furniture, and objects, including projects and collaborations for A.P.C., The National Gallery of Denmark / SMK, and clients across Scandinavia and Europe.
Today, Anita leads VALRYGG as its creative director — shaping the vision, atmosphere, and creative language of the studio and its growing world.
